Crimson Books : Who, What, and Why

A few years ago I was asked to write something up about why I had decided to go into the book business, though you might find it interesting :

"Crimson - noun - a deep to vivid red; verb - to turn red with great emotion

Books - noun - written words, such as a novel; verb - engage for a performance.
When Crimson Books began the idea was to make the type of books I like, on topics I find engaging, more widely available.   As with all honest ideas if was little bit selfish, if the were out there I wanted them for myself and to a little something out of it.

And people were excited.  Primarily focusing on military history meant I knew my audience : the buff, the armchair historians, the re-enactors, the table-top gamers, the experts.  The enthusiastic.

X-years on and I am just beginning to see just how many types of enthusiast there are out there.  Are you fascinated by a craft?  Wish you lived in different time, or could make up a world of your own?  Does your growing collection of good stuff give you a reason to go to work every day?  Or are you just looking for that interest that will light a spark in your mind and set fire to your life?

Well, I have a place for you.  Crimson Books Inc. place for people with enthusiasms."

Well, here goes. After not being adept at this stuff for over 50 years, old Fred is trying to be cool again. In the future stop back for more pictures and random ramblings from the blog of the Crimson King..... Oh, by the way, this picture of Fred of Arabia and unknown fellow vendor was taken at this year's Military History Fest in February at Pheasant Run.
